Purina Parent Club Partnership Program
Funding the Future of Your Breed
Your national breed club, the AKC Canine Health Foundation and Purina® are working to ensure a healthy future for your breed. Since 2002, thousands have chosen to make a positive impact on the health of their breed by participating in the Purina® Parent Club Partnership (PPCP) Program. To date, the PPCP program has provided over $8.4 million for canine health research.
When you are a member of Purina® Pro Club® and you submit proofs of purchase for eligible Purina® brand pet foods, your national breed club can receive funding for breed-specific health studies that enable dogs like yours to live longer, healthier lives. The more proofs of purchase you turn in, the greater your potential earnings for your national breed club. Some clubs have already generated thousands of dollars for their breed.
Half of the funding each year is designated for canine health research and AKC Canine Health Foundation grants. The other half is eligible to provide additional funding for the breed club’s health research, education and rescue efforts, including, but not limited to:
- Cancer research
- Illustrated breed standards
- Health screening clinics
- Breed rescue
- Wildlife habitat studies
- Educational outreach
- Scholarship programs
Where does funding go?
Your national breed club will earn 10% of the value of your qualifying Purina product submissions. Of that amount, half goes directly to the AKC Canine Health Foundation fund for your breed and half comes to your club. For example, here’s one participant’s story:
“I submitted Purina proofs of purchase valued at $100. Purina donated $10 to support my breed: $5 went to my national breed club’s Donor Advised Fund at the AKC Canine Health Foundation to support health research and $5 went to my national breed club for health research, rescue and education.”

Join Purina® Pro Club®, Purina’s loyalty program and start earning rewards right away. To be eligible for the program you must either be a breeder or personally care for 5 or more dogs. If you are already a member, notify Purina® Pro Club® that you would like to start earning funds for your breed.

- Declare your breed for the Parent Club Partnership Program
- Submit your proofs of purchase for eligible Purina pet foods to Purina Pro Club.
Purina will make a donation to your breed club and the AKC Canine Health Foundation for all qualifying proofs of purchase you submit.
Help Future Generations of Dogs
Participate in canine health research by providing samples or by enrolling in a clinical trial. Samples are needed from healthy dogs and dogs affected by specific diseases.
